Hopkins and Weatherbee featured on Acoustic Slam recording project

HHC is honored and excited to be a part of a unique recording project based out of Portland, Oregon, called "Acoutic Slam". Over the course of four days last March, ten Portland artists were recorded at an intimate studio in acoutic format. The resulting album is a thoroughly enjoyable acoustic slam that includes such artists as Portland legend "Billy Kennedy", The amazing "Seakin Out", the "Gypsy Moths", and Gravity and Hennry's, "Matt Sheehy", to name a few.
Also included are Headless Human Clones' Dave Hopkins and Paolo Weatherbee performing a duet rendition of Warren Zevon's, "Carmelita".
The cost of recording this album was handled entirly by trade, and the mastering and production is being funded by benifit shows and donations. For more information on the Acoustic Slam project and artists, as well as free video clips and audio outtakes, go to: www.acousticslam.com.

HHC Rocks the Vote for Dennis Kucinich
Thanks to all of those who came out to support Headless Human Clones and Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich last Sunday May 16, 2004. It sure was weird playing at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, totally wired on the fine brew served up at the Java Hut at Hogan and Stark in Gresham.
Headless Human Clones performed in our new "fuel-efficient" lineup, with the addition of the spoken-word artistry of Special Guest Christoph Lopez (forever to be remembered as "The Thoughtful One") on "Dreamworld" and "GeoLogic."
Unlike most Presidential candidates for either party, Mr. Kucinich presented a simple but detailed plan for the future of our country and its role in the world, and directly answered questions from the audience. While we feel that we are compelled at this point in time to support anyone who runs against George Bush and can possibly win, our hearts will be with Dennis throughout the election year, and we hope to see him again and play at an even bigger rally in 2008!

Kings of Cable Access!
Headless Human Clones' performance on "Galactic Groove Christmas Special", seen on Portland Cable Access Television live on Dec 4, was an unmitigated success, unless you count a nearly complete lack of an audio staff until five minutes before showtime as a mitigation. For the record, the band showed up two hours early. But as rock and roll musicians, we must love that kind of treatment; it happens so much!! I'm a kidder, we had a great time anyway, meaning that nothing got broken or stolen, we didn't actually lose any money, no one was physically injured, and by the end of the set, almost all of the mics were turned on. Except for the lead singer's. But, don't get me wrong, we're not one of those prima donna wussy-ass bands that *needs* mics and stage monitors to rock. We...looked...mahvelous! So, we will undoubtedly be back. I'm guessing that the show will be rebroadcast on Channel 23 throughout the Holiday Season; please don't miss it ;-)

Look for us to be trying out some new material at the Ash Street Saloon very soon .... -dh
